A few months ago, I got the pleasure of photographing the Dallas wedding celebration for a very sweet and fun couple, Russell and Stephanie. Russell and Stephanie had their wedding in New York prior to this, but also wanted to do a celebration in Dallas, since it is where Stephanie is from. Many of the their friends traveled from other states to attend the wedding festivities in Dallas. You can definitely tell that the bride and the groom meant a lot to them and they were more than happy to celebrate with the happy couple for a second time.
Vietnamese Tea Ceremony
The day started off with the traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony. I loved that the couple’s dog, Butters wanted to be a part of the festivities. After the tea ceremony, we went to Prairie Creek Park for a quick portrait session. Stephanie wore a beautiful yellow ao dai for the portrait session. Even though the traditional red ao dai she wore for the tea ceremony was just as gorgeous, I think she looked stunning in the yellow one. It also went really well with all the fall colors that we are getting in Dallas this year.

Kirin Court Wedding Celebration
The wedding celebration continued at Kirin Court where they had their reception banquet. They chose this restaurant because Stephanie’s parent actually got married there as well, so it was especially meaningful to them to have it there. One of my favorite part of the night was the best man’s speech. He was hilarious and definitely had stories on the groom. I also loved that the couple’s friends were so insistent on them having their first dance. One of his friends said that they never had their first dance at their first wedding celebration so they all agreed that Stephanie and Russell had to have their first dance at this second celebration. I love their determination! And it paid off! Hey, that’s what good friends are all about.
I had so much fun spending the day with this fun couple and their wonderful friends and family. I enjoyed getting to know them and hearing their stories. This is one of the reason I love photographing weddings. Many congratulations to this beautiful pair!
